GROUNDS SERVICES
Grounds Maintenance Grove Park's grounds maintenance is contracted to Landscape Workshop each year. The contract includes lawn maintenance of individual lawns and common areas once per week, including mowing, edging, weedeating, blowing and cleanup during the growing season and leaf removal during the dormant season.
Depending on the time of year, other services provided include fertilization and herbiciding of planting beds, fertilization and weed control of turf areas, trimming/pruning of trees and shrubs (only that deemed necessary by the ARB), mulching of planting beds, spraying of trees and shrubs, fire ant control, painting of common area structures, and lake and park maintenance.
Irrigation Homeowners are furnished water for irrigation via neighborhood wells. Grove Park has been divided into three irrigation zones with each zone designated to a specific well supply. Irrigation is scheduled so that it does not interfere with mowing and edging; designated wells are turned off prior to mowing lawns and reactivated upon completion. In the event of rain, mowing and reactivation of the well is delayed until the zone can be mowed and edged properly. Ash Grove Court and Ash Grove Circle are the only areas that are controlled by a master controller. Although all other residential lots operate via privately-owned controllers, homeowners are encouraged to allow the Grounds Crew to set their irrigation schedules. Any irrigation schedule is subject to change without notice. Any improvements or replacement of heads, wiring, or control timers on individual irrigation systems is the homeowners' responsibility.
Pruning Plants were approved based on their natural shapes and no need for pruning. However, when deemed necessary by the ARB, the Grounds Crew does prune/trim Boxwoods, Liriope, Asian Jasmine, Crepe Myrtles and ornamental grasses. They also limb up trees when necessary. Any other trimming requests must be made via Work Order and will be considered on an individual basis.
Mulching Pinestraw mulch is distributed once per year, in the spring, and includes an allotment of 15 bales per single lot. Homeowners desiring more than their allotment can contact the Association Office to order a specific number or "as needed to cover". Additional bales are purchased and spread for $6.50 per bale and will be invoiced with the following months dues.
Inspections Lawn inspections are conducted on each residence annually. Issues found are either addressed by the in-house grounds crew, the contracted grounds crew or the homeowner.
